This image is documentation of the mark making participants made at the end of the sound walk.
The audio you hear comes from a contact microphone attached to a 3D printer that was then manipulated in Adobe Audition. There are supplemental sounds of conversations had that act as echoes or ghosts that activate the walk when listened to. The main focus of this sound walk was to have the participant/listener walk in my footsteps and live a day in my life. Moudy, the art building where I had my undergraduate classes was a staple in my art making, and with this sound walk I preserve its significance for me.

Ghost Memory
video game (unity)
2019
Ghost Memory is a video game I created through Unity. I 3D modeled every object in this game and scripted the player to walk around a small planet. The idea for this video game was to create a world that represented my mother's childhood. Through my memory and interpretation of my mothers memory, I recreate her childhood home back in Mexico. As she gets older, her memory fades, some things change, never staying completely the same. This video game is a way for her to return to her infancy as she is disabled and cannot travel far, to be used as a tool to remember her beginnings, and in a way my own.

The above images are renders of the little planet modeled for Ghost Memory.
Above is the 3D printed version of the Ghost Memory house that is lit from within with LEDs.

"self-portraits" is a photo series in which I photographed objects I use on a day to day basis in the studio. The thought process behind said series is the connectivity between person, object/tool, time, and how much we interact with objects to create.
